New Years Eve!!

New Year's Eve
Another full-orbed year hath waned to-day,
And set in the irrevocable past,
And headlong whirled long Time's winged blast
My fluttering rose of youth is borne away:
Ah rose once crimson with the blood of May,
A honeyed haunt where bees would break their fast,
I watch thy scattering petals flee aghast,
And all the flickering rose-lights turning grey.
Poor fool of life! plagued ever with thy vain
Regrets and futile longings! were the years
Not cups o'erbrimming still with gall and tears?
Let go thy puny personal joy and pain!
If youth with all its brief hope disappears,
To deathless hope we must be born again.

A Natural Choice

I came upon this article on the net and wanted to share it with all. I really do feel this way and why should we as nursing Mom's or expectant moms have to make a choice. Let's all take a stand against these snide and rude individuals that probably breast feed there own child back in the day. I mean really formula has not always be around, there were very few alternatives to breast feeding back in the day. It is widely known that children that are breastfed even for a short period of time reap the benefits. I am no longer nursing my son but I got those snide looks and even made a trip or two to the car to nurse when we were out in public. So ladies lets take a stand against the world if your out with your breastfed infant stop where you are and feed your child.

A Natural Choice
I'm at the mall with baby number one, and she is screaming because she is starving. She is strictly breastfed, no bottles, and I am now rushing to the third department store only to find, to my utter dismay, that these dressing rooms are also full. So, I resort to Plan B, and I make the long trek to my car towards the end of a very long parking lot, and this is where I ultimately and privately feed my daughter.
I am at the very same mall with my three children. The older of the two are in the stroller, contentedly munching away at their popcorn and slushies, while I am sitting on the bench with the baby, who is screaming because she is starving. I lay her across my arm, toss my nursing cover-up over my shoulder and over her head, and oh, so discreetly lift the top layer of my nursing blouse, unsnap my nursing bra, and make my precious daughter happy.
Why should this be a problem for women who are breastfeeding? It is the disparaging looks, snide remarks, and overall attitude of a lot of people that discourage women from breastfeeding in public, but it doesn't have to be this way. All it took for me was a few, very stressful outings to realize that I was doing something that was natural, and something that shouldn't bother anyone else, especially if I did it in such a manner that not one, single measure of my bare breast could be seen by anyone, and besides, I shouldn't have to hide because I was doing nothing wrong. Besides, I am proud of the fact that I breastfeed my children.
I even conducted my own experiment one day - a kind of spur of the moment experiment. I purposely sat next to two women on a bench at a store one day, who were both wearing very low-cut tops that were extremely revealing (something I would never wear, by the way), to breastfeed my son. I wanted to see who would turn more heads, and, you guessed it, the very natural, unexposed feeding of a four-month-old got more attention and rude looks than the very exposed breasts of two women chatting away on their cell phones.
There will always be those ignorant members of society who find it more acceptable to show too much cleavage than it is to feed your hungry infant, and until we, breastfeeding mothers, quit finding ourselves hiding in dressing rooms, bathroom stalls, and cars, we will never be able to help society overcome its prejudices about this very natural, wonderful, and special gift that we, as mothers, are able to give to our children. I am simply advising you, as a new mother, to overcome your hesitation, don't be embarrassed, and be discreet, but feed your baby as you were meant to do, if this is your choice.

We all met at my Meme's for a meeting of baby Sophia it was really good to have all of our family together once again, We don't get together much anymore but when we do we all seem to have a great time. Whitney's Favorite Movie

Whitney now has a favorite movie. It is Everyone's Hero a movie about Babe Ruth's bat being stolen by Lefty McGinnis. Yankee Irvin is the star character and he was the only one in the locker room just before the fake security guard (Lefty) kicks him out. Yankee and his newly found baseball Screwie Take out to find Darling (Babe's Bat) then take out to go to find the bat end up being stuck on a train get kicked off and then take off across country from New York to Chicago to personally hand Babe is bat back and gets to hit a home run in the world series. I'm sure I could add more but as you can tell its late and I forgot to post earlier today.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Bells
I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
And thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along
The unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
Till, ringing, singing on its way
The world revolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime,
A chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
Then from each black, accursed mouth
The cannon thundered in the South,
And with the sound
The Carols drowned
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
And in despair I bowed my head;
'There is no peace on earth,' I said;
'For hate is strong,
And mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!'
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
'God is not dead; nor doth he sleep!
The Wrong shall fail,
The Right prevail,
With peace on earth, good-will to men!'

Christmas Eve!

'Twas the Night Before Christmas (or A Visit from St. Nicholas)
by Clement Clarke Moore

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the housenot a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of sugar plums danced in their heads. And Mama in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap.

When out on the roof there arose such a clatter,I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.Away to the window I flew like a flash, tore open the shutter, and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snowgave the lustre of midday to objects below, when, what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.More rapid than eagles, his coursers they came, and he whistled and shouted and called them by name:
"Now Dasher! Now Dancer! Now, Prancer and Vixen! On, Comet! On, Cupid! On, Donner and Blitzen! To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall! Now dash away! Dash away!Dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, when they meet with an obstacle, mount to the skyso up to the house-top the coursers they flew, with the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roofthe prancing and pawing of each little hoof.As I drew in my head and was turning around, down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot, and his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.A bundle of toys he had flung on his back, and he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes--how they twinkled! His dimples, how merry! His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry! His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,and the beard on his chin was as white as the snow. The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth, and the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath. He had a broad face and a little round belly, that shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,and I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself.A wink of his eye and a twist of his headsoon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, and filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk. And laying his finger aside of his nose, and giving a nod, up the chimney he rose.

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,And away they all flew like the down of a thistle. But I heard him exclaim, 'ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"

Christmas Tree Stories

The kids have been pretty good about the Christmas tree this year the both will go to it and fluff it. But, it is particularly cute when Whitney will go to the tree and say I fluff I fluff. Instead of putting the ornaments all the way down this year like I have done in the past years I put them on just the higher half and have had very few ornaments taken off or brought to me this year. I am sure many of you remember the lights on lights off story from last year. Well it began again this year and both were doing it. So, I removed the cord and had an extra outlet behind the TV and has only been bothered once or twice. So, no real Christmas tree story this year just the I fluff I fluff story.

Click on the link below if you want to see the lights on lights off story from last year.

Dalton Tries To Lead Jedi!

Dalton tried with all his might to lead Jedi the other day but he would not budge. It was the same day they tried to ride him. He just didn't want to move for them. It was too funny on his part. Mike had just taken him around the yard, and he did fine. But, once they got on his feet had been planted into the ground, I do not think he even moved an inch.

My New Favorite Quote!

'Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater.
If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby. If you
give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give
her groceries, she'll give you a meal. If you give her
a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and
enlarges what is given to her. So, if you give her any
crap, be ready to receive a ton of shit.'

Breast Fed No More!!

On December 4, 2008 Dalton had been showing no to little interest in nursing. So I did not offer to breast feed him on Thursday December 4, 2008. He has been quite content and does not seem to miss nursing, he has not ask or signed to nurse so he basically weened himself. He is still attached to me at the hip though and if I leave the room he has to follow or come find me.

Dalton's First Real Horse Kisses!

I taught Jedi and Prince to kiss when they were just baby's, It was really the only thing I could do since I was pregnant. So, I would love on them by telling them to give Momma kisses and they just caught on so, now they do it on command or if they feel like giving someone love. Jedi did this all on his on. It was so sweet.
